UPDATED JULY 14, 2022

This is Championship Event #3 of the 2022 Autocross Season at FedEx Field.

The event is a half-day event, and it features 4 runs - or more depending on how many participants register - per driver.  There will be a Registration, Tech, and course walk session before each half of the event.  See the event schedule below.

In an effort to streamline our operations and provide our competitors more runs at FedExField (who doesn't want more runs!), we are going to pilot a format change this event on July 17.

SO WHAT'S NEW?

  • There will be SIX RUNS (!!) for everyone but split into 2 different run groups, allowing for shorter work shifts, tires to cool and brains to digest what they just experienced.
  • NEW SCHEDULE:  All competitors must arrive in the morning.  There will not be a second registration/tech session.  See schedule below.
  • There will be no break in the middle for course walks as everyone will have had a runs on course; we will just keep running to keep the day moving.
  • Workers will swap on the fly which means to go to your work assignment immediately after you are finished running so that no one is waiting to be relieved at a worker station.  You may eat, change tires, etc. during your heat off!

WHAT'S STAYING (EFFECTIVELY) THE SAME?

  • Gate
    • Hard Card (annual waiver) either physically or a screenshot on your phone
    • SpeedWaiver
    • Sign the paper waiver at the Gate
  • Grid layout
    • Heats 1 and 4 will be in A
    • Heats 2 and 5 will be in B
    • Heats 3 and 6 will be in C
  • Worker Positions (change on the fly!). -- The assignments will be sent to competitors either Friday or Saturday.
  • The friendly and helpful WDCR Solo Committee!  (shameless plug)

ENTRY FEES

  • SCCA Members: $78
  • Non-Members: $93  This includes weekend membership for $15.
  • Double Entries: If you want to pay for two entries, you will either have no break or you'll have to work another assignment before course walks or help us clean up at the end of the event.  Contact me solochair@wdcr-scca.org to arrange for this.

WAIT LIST

There is a cap of 280 Competitors, after which an entrant will be added to a Wait List.  Registration for the event from the Wait List is based on time/date of registration.

WAIVERS

ALL participants on site MUST complete the electronic "SpeedWaiver" or SCCA annual waiver for this event, prior to attending.

We strongly encourage SCCA members to fill out the new digital annual waiver: SCCADigitalAnnualWaivers_Instructions.pdf  You will not have to complete a SpeedWaiver per event you attend if you have an annual waiver!

  • Adults: If you do not have a valid Annual Waiver, you will need to complete the SpeedWaiver for the Solo waiver (complete it in advance!).
  • Minors: If you are under the age of 18 and an SCCA member, you must also complete an Annual Waiver requiring both parents to complete the process.  The Speed Waiver does not cover Minors.

CANCELLATIONS

Non-Season Subscribers must cancel online by the Wednesday before the event in order to receive a refund; cancellations after that will not be refunded. because of the event format change must notify solochair@wdcr-scca.org.

Season Subscribers should cancel as soon as possible to open a space for others who can attend (and to help the Worker Chief!).

COVID-19 EVENT OPERATIONS

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, every attempt will be made to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus.  SCCA COVID Guidelines are listed here.

WDCR Solo has supplemental COVID guidelines.  The entrant agrees to follow the organizer's guidance onsite if any situations are changing.

  1. Please BRING YOUR OWN WATER.  Water will be provided to course workers.
  2. Loaner helmets will NOT be available for use.  You must bring your own SNELL rated helmet (SNELL approval sticker required) with a SNELL rating of 2020 or up to two certifications back (2015 and 2010).  OG Racing (Sterling, VA) rents helmets for $55 and they allow you to put that money toward the purchase of a new helmet.  Contact OG Racing at 800-934-9112 or info@ogracing.com.

If any of these change, you will be notified via your registration email.
