2025 Autox Exhibition Event Rev2

  1. This format of competition will be a Tournament Style Bracket.
  2. The bracket will be broken up into two halves to make room for work assignments on course, there will be 2 heats with a 3rd championship heat to determine 1st 2nd 3rd 4th .
  3. Brackets will be randomized.
  4. Times will be based on PAX.
  5. Novices will not be allowed to enter this event. If someone has registered as a novice this season or if it is their first season, they are barred from entry. An annual membership is also required.
  6. At the start of both heats, every driver will get 1 practice run.
  7. People who are facing off against each other will be sent one at a time, back to back.
  8. Each driver gets one run per showoff to move up.
  9. The first cone hit in a run only counts for 0.5 seconds, it will make for better driving knowing you can cone once and still have a good time. It will also keep people from fear of coning their run away on a stray cone. If someone hits more than one cone then that is their own overdriving.
  10. DNF is an immediate loss unless both people DNF their runs, then they will both run it again.
  11. 2nd driver is not allowed to know the 1st drivers time, this is to avoid people strategically underdriving to avoid cones or a DNF if they know the other persons time. People should be giving their best shot regardless. They will need to be placed appropriately far enough from the timer or a radio to avoid knowing anything of the other drivers run.
  12. 1st and 2nd driver will be randomized.
  13. There will be a losers bracket so everyone can get at minimum 3 runs.
  14. Losers bracket will be ran after the entire bracket has concluded for that heat.
  15. Drivers and workers switch after the heat to run the next bracket.
  16. Once the two champions of the brackets are decided, 3rd and 4th will be decided then 1st and 2nd.
  17.  These final brackets will be best of 3. NOT the best time but rather 3 showoffs, if a driver wins the first two then the 3rd will not happen.
  18. There wont need to be workers on course for 3rd heat, rather the course can be swept after each run. There is a max of 12 runs for this so it should be able to be tackled easily by 2 people on scooters. This is to avoid making only some people work course for 3rd heat, it’ll be more enjoyable if everyone gets to watch the showdown. Volunteers are welcome for this.
  19. Co-drives are allowed, we will need to know appropriately beforehand to make sure you aren’t facing off against your own co-driver. Co drivers will be placed in opposite heats to avoid this. Logistical issues will be tackled as they come up. If a pair of co-drivers (of the same car) make it into the 3rd heat then there will be a special set of rules to eliminate the issues of running a car back to back (tire temps).
  20. During heat running, drivers will not be guaranteed a minimum time between runs, this is luck of the draw and is there to make sure we get through the heats fast enough. If car changes are to be made, they must be done with what time is allotted. A mechanical issue is an immediate loss.
